Public values evolve alongside technological and social transformations, often shaped by complex power dynamics. While regulatory frameworks worldwide, such as the EU AI Act, emphasise ethical, secure, and lawful AI, their focus remains largely technology-centric.
The AlgoSoc conference seeks to broaden this perspective, emphasising AI as a societal challenge and considering the broader ecosystem of actors and interactions that influence the realisation of public values in digital technologies.
